Frena died in Pendleton County in 1774. (Another source identifies
Jacob's wife as Susanna Leysi.) Jacob and his family
arrived in Philadelphia with his brother Ulrich on the ship "Patience"
in 1750.
The brothers settled on the South Branch of the Potomac River in Pendleton

27.JACOB CONRAD
Jacob Conrad, a son of Benjamin and Barbara (Hedrick) Conrad, was born
in Pendleton County Va (WV) in 1794 and died in Gilmer County WV September
23, 1872. He married Eunice Virginia Mace in Harrison County VA (WV)
September 2, 1815. According to an article in "Journal of the Braxton
Historical Society" for June 1988, Eunice, a daughter of John and
Molly Mace, was born
in Pendleton County August 4, 1775and died in Gilmer County March 2, 1895.
There is considerable doubt that Eunice was actually born in 1775.Her age
is reported as 58 in the 1850 Gilmer County VA census, as 67 in the 1860
Gilmer listing and as 71 in the 1870 returns. Her youngest child
was born in 1837. If the 1775 date were correct,Eunice would have
been 62 when he was born. Possible, but not likely. She was probably born
between 1790 and
1795 and was probably
a niece of Eunice Mace who was born in Pendleton County in August 1775.

38.JOHN B. CONRAD
John B. Conrad, a son of Peter and Ann (Currence) Conrad was born in Lewis
County VAMay 13, 1809 and died January 29, 1893. John
was apparently married twice. His first wife was Mary Wilson and
his second was Mary May. John is listed in the 1860 census of Gilmer County,
VA (WV), with Mary, who was born in VA about 1839 and 3 children.
This appears to be Mary May. Since the oldest child listed in the
household is only eleven years younger than Mary, he is probably a child
of the first wife. There are four other children who do not appear
in the 1860 Gilmer County census; Harmon Jackson, William Hall, Peter B.and
Samuel. John married Mary Ann Riffle in Braxton County
in 1873.
