Singleton for his first wife. After Lucinda’s untimely death, shortly after
their marriage, Harvey married Jemima in 1867. And reared a large
family. Harvey was about 80 years old, in August 1923, when he fell
from a wagon load of hay and broke his neck. Resulting in his death.
He had been a Confederate soldier in the Civil War.

Nathaniel Coleman “John” Moss, 1842/1923, first born of Dvaid and Mary Moss, born in Rockingham Co., Virginia. His first wife was Mary Rommetsch, daughter of Jacob and Louisa (Smith) Rommetsch.. He was one of seven children.
Martha Moss, daughter of David and Mary Moss, married on July 8, 1862, James J. Norman, son of Isac and Susan Norman, for first marriage. Martha married August 10, 1865, Robert Wade, son of Peter and Sarah Wade for her second marriage. Martha and Robert had one son, William “Link” Wade, born ca 1870. “Links” children were listed in 1900 census as Lilly, Henry W., Laura.
Jane Moss, daughter of David and Mary married Godfrey Unger, on June 11,1861. Their daughter Lovie Unger, born August 4, 1878, married Wade Persinger, on August 9, 1905. Lovie died March 7, 1963. Lovie and Wade’s children were Sherman, Arthur, both died April 14, 1933. Carey, born in 1919 died March 2, 1964, married Tulsa Adams. Orpha Belle, born 1909, died 1978, married George Milton. All buried in the Rommetsch Cemetery, Steer Creek, Gilmer Co., West Virginia except Godfrey Unger.
Mary Ann Moss, daughter of David and Mary moss, sister of Nathaniel C. “John” Moss, {hereafter referred to as John}, married on April 23, 1865to Levi L. Boggs, born June 4, 1832. She was Levi’s third wife, levi’s first wife, Caroline Norris, married April 21, 1850. Second marriage of Levi was to Francis Wyatt, August 7, 1859. In the 1880 census lists in the house of Levi and Mary Ann these children; Clendene, Clara, Michael, Edgar, French, Francis, Alfred, also Mary H. Moss (widow) age 68 years. Mary Ann’s mother. Clara Moss, daughter of Mary Ann and Levi married a Taggert.
Willie M. Moss, daughter of David and Mary Moss, married on August 31, 1869, F. M. Bowyer, son of Daniel ans Catherine Bowyer. Second marriage of Willie M. (Moss) Bowyer, on February 25, 1894, was to Samuel P. Wilson. The census of 1900 lists in the Samuel P. Wilson household the following; Willie M. age 54 years, Lafayette age 14 years, a grandson. Willie M. Wilson, died March 25, 1911 at age 65 years.

Rev. Samuel P. Wilson, first marriage was to Mary R. Moris, daughter of John C. and Ann (Broches) Morris, in Harrison Co., Virginia on August 25, 1858.

Rev. Samuel P. Wilson, first marriage was to Mary R. Morris, daughter of John C. and Ann (Broches) Morris, in Harrison Co., Virginia on August 25, 1858. They had four children: John J, born July 4, 1858 - died September 15, 1886 age 7 years, 2 months, 11 days; Mary A., born August 20, 1861 - died November 7, 1862 age 1 year, 3 months, 13 days; Florence J., born July 16, 1863 - died April 20, 1869, age 6 years, 3 months, 4 days; Margaret S., born January 8, 1865 - died April 12, 1869, age 4 years, 3 months, 4 days.
Samuel P. Wilson, was a captain of a company of State Guards stationed in Lewis Co., Virginia during the Civil War.
He became a Methodist Episcipal minister in 1852. For fifteen years he acted as a Methodist Episcipal minister in Harrison County, Virginia beginning in 1862. He then came to Copen Run, Braxton County, and formed the first Methodist Church in the Copen Run community. Organized in 1880, consisting of seven members. His work was greatly blessed.
He was also a farmer in the Salt Lick area. Living at Cushing in Braxton County, West Virginia.
His first marriage was to Mary R. Morris, the duaghter of John and Ann (Broches) Morris, in August of 1858. No surviving children after 1869. And no children born of his second marriage to Willie M. Moss (Bowyer).
After the death of Mary (Rommetsch) Moss, John’s first wife, John married Hattie Jane Lynch, on March 16, 1896, of Laurel Run, Gilmer Co., West Virginia. Hattie Jane , was born 1877 and died 1956.. John, was born 1842 and died 1923.
John and Hattie’s children were; Stella, born 1899 died 1924, never married; Robert Lee, born 1903, married Edith Weaver, on June 7, 1933. Their children; Patty Jean, born 1931; Ernestine, born 1936 and Catherine, born 1938.
Clarence Eugene, born December 5, 1904, died August 24, 1986, married Laura Marks. Clarence and Laura’s children; Donny Lee, Wayne, Kenneth, Paul, June, Arlow, Carol, Barbara.
Ernie Moss, fourth of John anf Hattie Moss, born July 3, 1895, died April 20, 1976, married Elva Mohr. Their children; Itella, and Othella.
Ernie’s second
marriage was to Clara Lea Bell, children; Arnold, Roy, Ronzel, Rodney,

The listing of a Louisa in the household could have been a mistake as was often found. The miss-spelling of both the family name and given name was often the case. These were foriegn people speaking broken English as well as Dutch. Louisa as listed could well have been the youngest daughter of Fredericka and Jacobs sister. It has been told, that after Fredericka’a death, Jacob, had to take Lucy to a mental Asylum in Weston, West Virginia. She was an epileptic and would have seasures.
