Nancy Ann Stout, a daughter of St.
Ledger Codd and Susannah (Simpson) Stout, was born in Hopewell, NJ
July 25, 1756 and died in Randolph County VA February 25, 1844.
She married Edward Hart. Edward, a son of John and Deborah (Scudder) Hart,
was born December 20, 1755 and died October 5, 1812. Edward's father
was a signer of the Declaration of Independence. The family moved
to Beverly, Randolph County, VA (WV) before 1794.

Hezekiah Stout Jr., a son of Hezekiah
and Mary (Powers) Stout, was born in Harrison County VA (WV) in 1789 and
died in Gilmer County VA (WV) January 10, 1859. He married Mary Ann
"Nancy" Wolfe in Harrisocn County VA (WV) April 2, 1807. Mary, a
daughter of John and Margaret Wolfe, was born in Harrison County in 1790
and died before 1822. Hezekiah married Sarah Cline. Sarah was born about
1800 and died before 1850. His third wife was Mary Alexander.
He married Mary (Henley) Wilson] Brannon in Gilmer County November 18,
1847. Mary was born in VA about 1790 and was the widow of Joseph
Wilson and Jesse Brannon.
Deweese said Jesse Brannon married
"... the widow Wilson the mother of Joseph Wilson ..." After Jesse Brannon
died, Mary married Hezekiah Stout. According to Deweese, "... making
her his fourth wife and he her third husband...".
Mary filed widow's pension application
#6726 February 9, 1859.
