ITEM 1: DANIEL FLOWEREE, Maternal Grandfather of John F. Singleton
John F. Singleton was reared by his mother’s parents, William Daniel and Susannah (French) Floweree. Daniel was the son of William Floweree, who was the son of an earlier Daniel Floweree.
The first we find this surname in America was George Flowre who immigrated to Virginia in 1606. No age was given on his passenger record. probably he is the progenitor of the Floweree family in America.
Daniel and Susannah (French). Floweree lived on Cromwell’s
Run near Rectortown in Fauquier County, Virginia and were neighbors of
the Stanley Singleton family. They were the parents of at least ten children

Daniel Floweree ammassed great wealth during his life-time. He died in 1815, in Fauquier County, VA, without leaving a will. His personal belongings were appraised at almost ten thousand dollars and after the land was appraised the commissioners reported the total value at forty seven thousand, six hundred forty nine dollars and thirty four cents. Commissioners Samuel Ashby, William Rector and James Kincheloe were appointed to divide the estate. It was divided between nine heirs, with John Singleton receiving his mother’s part.
