MY FATHER AUSTIN POST
Austin Post, my father the eldest son of Charles and Julia Ann Post was born Feb. 16, 1871 in Lewis County. The family moved to the left fork of Dusk Camp Ca 1874.
He went to school and worked hard like other children but he pushed hard to learn and was interested very much in law. As soon as it was possible he enrolled in the Glenville Normal School ( what is now Glenville State College) to study law, one of his class mates was Ernest Arbuckle of Glenville. When he could handle legal papers, he worked for the Hope Gas Co. and the Pittsburgh arid West Virginia Oil Co. He leased thousands of acres of land and was a field boss. He was present when the big Copley oil well was drilled in on Sand Fork ahout 1907, it flowed unchecked-checked for days.
Father wrote deeds, wills, and contracts for people. charging them nothing. He was a Notary Public for more than sixty years.
My father married Myrtle Maude Rennie, Sept.1l, 1906. She was born Oct. 14, 1883 the daughter of Alexander and Caroline (Rommetsch) Rennie, of Steer Creek in the Cedarville community of Gilmer Co.
They came to Dusk Camp to make their home, I was born March 13,1909. I attended the traditional one room school at Dusk Camp and went to Sand Fork high school and to Gassaway high school, boarding with my Mother's sister my Aunt Essie Bennett. Than I went to Buckhannon to study where I became interested in writing poetry and biography. On Sept. 12, 1931 I married Carris Singleton,born in Braxton County, the son of Asa W. and Maude Catherine (Dean) Singleton.
We have two daughters Mrs. Gene Jesse (Lerajean) and Mrs. Eldon Johnson (Rennie). Two grand children Robin Ann Hagedorn and David Michael Johnson. Also four great grand - children David Hagedorn and Kathlin Ann Hagedorn, Joshua Johnson and Joel Johnson.

Arthur was. the. second son born to Charles arid Julia Ann (Wright) Post He was born in Lewis; County on Canoe Run, 1 year, 3 months, and 2 days after Austin.
This article published in The Weston Democrat: Bill Adler-of Weston wrote an article for the paper called yesteryears this is what the article said:
Dec. 11, 1872 Issue:
“Since our last issue, two new graves have been
filled, in our cemetery. One was a little daughter of Mr. F. M. Annawalt,
the other an infant child of Mr. Charles Post, died after a few hours.”

* MY UNCLE HENRY *
Uncle Henry married Virginia Hutchson Brosius. I visited their home many times as I was growing up, they were happy fun loving people. He with a hearty laugh and a quick decisive answer; she with such a merry chuckle and a kind smooth voice, she never raised in anger.
They raised a large family, eleven children were born to Uncle Henry and Aunt Jenny. They had twin boys, Guy and Henry, who lived for a few weeks.
When you visited their farm you could have so much fun, Uncle Henry always took us places and showed you a good time. He had a large farm and raised sheep and Black Angus cattle.
He use to tell us so many funny stories about his growing up years. I often wondered if he really did have so much fun growing up as a boy.
Uncle Henry died at the
age of 74 in the year of 1948, Aunt Jenny died at the age of 79 in the
year of 1955.
