The Johann D. Post family emigrated to Baltimore, MD, from Germany in the year of 1834 when Charles was but a lad of seven. Following are some notations found in an old Bible, left with my father, Austin Post, when I was a child. It was crumbling with age and difficult to read, but, as near as I could tell this was a record or a journal Grand-father Charles had kept dating back to 1776 the date his Grand-father, Johann D. P'fost, was born.

(Carol’s Notes)
Carol is a Great, Great Grandaughter of Charles and Barbara (Swick) Post. A Great, Grand-daughter of George Lee and Minnie Virginia (Lorentz) Post. A Grand-daughter of Phillip and Orva (Potts) Post. And the daughter of Arnold and Grace (Bunten) Post.
I will tell you a little about my father Arnold and Grandfather Phillip. I can’t remember my Great grandfather George Lee Post at all. But, he was a good business man and a good provider. He married my Great Grandmother Minnie Virginia Lorentz, the daughter of Phillip Lorentz and Adelaide (Bailey) Lorentz, whose family owned the Bailey House a hotel in Weston which I think was torn down several years ago.
I will try to tell you more about my father, Arnold; my memories of him are rather vague. I try to remember him as he must have been when he was young. He had a wonderful . funny. out going personality. He had the ability to make everyone laugh, he was talented musically and played all sorts of musical instruments, anything with strings. He once had a band and they performed around at various places. He had a beautiful voice and in the good times, he would get out his guitar and tune it up and sing songs to us. I remember how sad I always got when he sang “you take the high road and I’ll take the low road......” I still cry to this day whenever I hear it.
He was a tenor and my Grandfather Phillip was a bass and sang with a quartet. People for miles around got the quartet to come and sing for them for various occasions: and I can still remember that booming baritone - bass when he sang hymns People still say back there that he had the most beautiful voice they ever heard. Dad. loved to make model airplanes and build radios, he loved to cook fancy food and would make a wonderful stuffed turkey and dressing and cranberry sauce. He could fix anything; he knew everyone and everyone in the country knew him. They called him “Hon” as that is what Grandma and Granddad G. L. called him. He was given just about anything he wanted - He had tricycles and guns and beautiful toys and cloths and had the opportunity to go to college. He attended Bowling Green Business School for a while. And then Granddad gave him a poultry business, it did not succeed.
After Granddad G. L. Post died, Granddad Phill continued to live as before, but, by the that time medical bills and Granddad’s ill health had taken toll on the farm and much of it was sold. Grandmother Orva worked very hard for as long as she could. After she died, Granddad Phil stayed in the home in Crawford that Granddad G. L. had built for him and lived near Ernestine (Ernie his daughter) and my father, Arnold. He worshipped my father and after my father was killed in an auto accident, he never seemed to be the same.
My father did have many
good moral values and passed on many good traits to us - Not to hurt peoples
feelings - Be honest - Keep yourself and your surroundings clean and neat.
He always helped out when anyone needed him. He was killed in an automobile
accident after we were all gone away from home.
